Rick Hearst is set to star the Dynasty reboot’s new season.

Coming to Primetime!

Hearst (Ric, GH) took to Instagram to let fans know of his new gig on the CW’s reboot of the classic nighttime sudser, Dynasty. “My most challenging role yet,” he quipped. “A Conservative Republican.” The Atlanta-based actor also posted the news on Twitter, presumably alluding to his “Conservative Republican” comment with #SenatorDaniels in the post; we assume that ‘s the character that he’ll be playing. The reboot made its debut on October 11th, and was just renewed for a full season. ABC Soaps in Depth‘s mentioned that the script pictured in the Instagram photo is marked Episode 12, so we guess that fans will have to wait until then to see their fave!

Many Accolades, Many Roles!

We have no doubt that the versatile Hearst’s talent will lend itself nicely to the drama on the show. The actor has won three Daytime Emmys –for Outstanding Younger Actor for his role as Alan Michael on GL; Outstanding Supporting Actor for Ric on GH; and, the same award three years later for that role. He wrapped up his time on GH last year–for now. You never know when Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) crafty lawyer brother Ric might again appear to stir things up in Port Charles!

Don’t Miss: This is how long Steve Burton will be around on GH–at the very least!

Hearst has also appeared on Days as Scotty; Y&R as Carter Mills/Matt Clark; and B&B as Whip Jones. That makes him a vet of all four remaining network soaps! He’s also graced the small screen on everything from Beverly Hills, to 90210, to Pacific Blue, to Charmed, to Castle. He will appear in the movie, Full Count, along with ex-fellow GH-er Natalia Livingston (ex-Emily).

Family Man

Rick’s married to Donna, and they have two sons, Cameron and Nicholas. We at Soap Cities wish the actor the best of luck on his new role!
