Soap Cities reader profile #9, Emily Sigall.

Every month we at Soap Cities (SC) profile a soap fan and SC reader from around the world in our Reader Profile. We soap fans are each an integral part of a vibrant, dynamic, eternal community. And here is one example of that!

Name: Emily Sigall

Hometown: Columbia, Maryland.

How long she’s been watching soaps:  32 years.

Favorite soap: The Young and the Restless; The Bold and the Beautiful [original cast].

Favorite soap character: Brooke Logan.

All-time favorite soap storyline: After over three decades of watching, I cannot choose only one–but the demise of David Kimble was pretty good

On the future of the soap genre: Despite efforts to cut costs and produce so-called reality television, there is clearly a trend to revive scripted series that highlight the work of talented actors. Reboots of dramatic and comedic programs such as Roseanne and Twin Peaks prove that viewers are yearning for a revival of creative television.

Fun fact: I’m a cookie artist.
