Doug Davidson took to Twitter to thank his his fans–and one in particular–to get him back on the front burner on The Young and the Restless.

Many fans long for the days when Y&R regularly featured fan fave Doug Davidson in prominent storylines. Led by Twitter-er Jewell Kay, those fans started a petition to see that the actor comes back to the fore of the Genoa City action.

Davidson was so touched he took to Twitter to offer his thanks.

Anniversary Memory Lane

As Davidson marked his 39th anniversary on the show on Twitter with a touching image and Tweet, which you can see in full below, his fans geared up to act.

They first urged fellow fans to get the hashtag #MoreDougonYR trending onΒ he microblogging site, reported Soaps In Depth.

Doug/Paul fans then started a petition to get Y&R Executive Producer Mal Young and others to take note of. It too underscored Davidson’s many fans’ desire to see him back in the thick of the drama on the CBS sudser.

Davidson was effusive in his thanks to his loyal fans in a Tweet.
