Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley speak out by being silent.

Two ex-The Young and the Restless, Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause, share some off-screen interests.

Engaged to Each Other, Engaged in Activism

Justin Hartley (ex-Adam Newman) and Chrishell Stause (ex-Bethany Bryant) may no longer be on The Young and the Restless, but they still have plenty in common.

As their fans know, the two have been together for almost three years. Last year, the handsome couple announced their engagement.

Friday, Stause took to Instagram to share a pic of her and Hartley in a photo for one of the latest installments in photographer Adam Bouska’s “NOH8” pictorial protest campaign. Read on and scroll down to see Stause’s full Instagram post and moving caption.

The photographs feature people with duct tape covering their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by discrimination, with “NOH8” painted on one of their cheeks.

A Targeted Strategy With Broader Usage

Bouska and his partner, Jeff Parshley, envisioned and executed the NOH8 campaign as “a photographic silent protest” against California’s passing the anti-gay marriage ballot measure, Proposition 8, according to noh8campaign.com.

“While inspired by the passage of Prop 8 and the fight for marriage equality, the scope of the NOH8 Campaign has grown to stand against discrimination and bullying of all kinds. The message of ‘No Hate’ can be interpreted and applied broadly, and everyone can relate to the message of NOH8 in their own way,” the website says.

The campaign has featured Californians and global citizens from a variety of backgrounds, famous and non-famous, politicians, members of the armed forces, entertainers, artists, married couples, and more.

Just a few of the many soap stars who have been a part of the NOH8 photo effort include, Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis, Days of Our Lives), Ilene Kristen (Roxy Balsam, One Life to Live), and Nichelle Nichols (ex-Lucinda Winters, The Young and the Restless)
