One of Soap Cities’ favorite soap journalists, Michael Logan, interviewed “Days of Our Lives” Eileen Davidson. With his formidable interviewing skills and knowledge of soaps, he elicited some fun, exciting answers from the beloved Davidson.

A Salem Reappearance?

Davidson says she would be open to reprising the role of Kristen DiMera on Days, but that is just an abstract notion to conjecture about at this point, she told Logan.

“I’m open to anything. I have extreme amounts of love for Salem and for my character, Kristen, and feel very loyal to that show. But Y&R is my job right now, and I wouldn’t ever want to do anything that pissed anyone off,” Davidson said in her interview with Logan on tvinsider.com.

Daytime Stars in Reality TV Show–and Vice Versa

Davidson and fellow Days alum Lisa Rinna (ex-Billy, “Days of Our Lives”) appear on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (RHOBH) together, one of Bravo’s super-successful Real Housewives (RH) franchise.

Many industry insiders and experts believe that the preceded of Reality TV, the OJ Simpson trial, and then Reality TV itself, damaged the appetite for scripted television. Despite this, the Real Housewives franchise has some connections to daytime soaps.

There’s Davidson and Rinna, of course. Then there’s the fact that perennial RH host, Andy Cohen was (and hopefully will be again!) big “All My Children” fans.

Then there’s Erika Girardi. She was named after Erica Kane (Susan Lucci, “All My Children”). Her mother was one of Erica’s throngs of devoted fans, just as we at Soap Cities all are.

Girardi recently played a stressed-out businesswoman who crossed paths with Ashley Abbott. The two got into a row, that, as US Magazine put it, would make any housewife proud. All the Real Housewives have a penchant for ego and conflict–or at least their producers tell them to act like they do!
