Soap Faves to Compete on Battle of the Network Stars Reboot!

Get ready for a blast from the past, as the sports competition show from the 1970s and 80s, Battle of the Network Stars, returns, featuring some of your favorite daytime notables!

Re-booted and Rockin’!

Fans of the popular program from years past, Battle of the Network Stars, have a summer treat to enjoy, as an all new version of the show is back! June 29th’s the date, ABC’s the place to watch at 9 p.m. EST. The reboot will run for 10 weeks. Michael Fairman reported that some of our faves from both daytime and nighttime soaps will be competing in the lineup of events.

Daytime and Nighttime, Get Ready to Rumble!

The daytimers that will be testing their athletic mettle include a contingent from Days of Our Lives: Deirdre Hall (Marlena) and Galen Gering (Rafe); General Hospital: Ryan Paevey (Nathan) and Shari Belafonte (Mayor Lomax); One Life to Live: Corbin Bleu (Jeffrey); Bold and Beautiful’s Lorenzo Lamas (Hector); Young and the Restless’ Corbin Bernsen (Father Todd); All My Children’s Cameron Mathison (Ryan); and Generations and The Young and the Restless’s Vivica A. Fox (ex-Maya; ex-Stephanie).

The nighttime soapers competing will be Dallas reboot’s Josh Henderson (John); Dallas original series star Charlene Tilton (Lucy); Knots Landing and GH’s Donna Mills (Abby; Madeline). There’s also Beverly Hills, 90210′s Ian Ziering (Steve) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea). Rounding out the participants are The OC’s Mischa Barton (Marissa) Central Park West‘s John Barrowman. Quite the lineup!

An Array of Events

It certainly will be exciting–and amusing, given the hijinks that are sure to take place in a nod to the original program–to see the stars give their all in a variety of sporting events. Whether it be the obstacle course, archery, the kayak relay, or a host of other competitions, your soap faves are sure to please.
