Don’t worry Nathan West fans, Ryan Paevey will be back soon enough. The “General Hospital” star discussed a new gig and other timely topics in a recent TV appearance.

Good Guy Turns Bad Guy

“I’m going to be on a plane to Kentucky in the next three or four days, and I’ll probably be there for about a month,” Paevey told Los Angeles’ KABC last week. Scroll down for the full video.

Paevey will play a “bad guy” in a movie filming there, the actor said. “Bad guy” is a far cry from his Port Charles’ character Nathan West. Nathan is a classic soap hero, always trying to do the right thing and rescuing anyone in distress.

Nathan has had some distress of his own lately, of course, as he and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) have tripped and stumbled down the aisle. They finally said “I do” last week.

Bikes, Hikes, and Baubles Too

Paevey has several hobbies he’s passionate about. He is an avid motorcycle enthusiast, despite having seriously injured his wrist in an accident. Also, on his website, fortunatewanderer.com he sells prints of his photography. Paevey’s work behind the shutter focuses on the wonder of nature.

On his website you can find links to buy Paevey’s handmade jewelry as well. He creates funky necklaces and bracelets, often named after geographic locations.

How He Became Detective Nathan West

Paevey originated the role of Nathan in 2013. He told KABC that luck has been a significant factor in his big breaks in life. We think it might be his thespian talent and hard work too!
