Dominic Zamprogna plays dedicated cop Dante Falconeri on General Hospital. Here’s the 411 on the actor for all you Zamprogna fans!
Sign of the Bull
Zamprogna’s a Taurus, born on April 21.
North of the Border
He hails from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Show biz runs in his family. Dad Lou was a dancer and choreographer, (he danced in the movie Fiddler on the Roof!) and he and Zamprogna’s mom ran a dance school and an acting school. His sisters, Gema and Amanda also act.
Double the Fun!
Zamprogna and sis Amanda are twins!
Acting wasn’t Zamprogna’s first love. In his younger years he had his sights set on soccer and basketball. We at Soap Cities are glad that acting won out, though.
He got into the acting game as a youth, and can count among his early credits the film F/X2 and the television series Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Path to Stardom
With many acting credits under his belt, in 2000 Zamprogna scored a leading role as Mark in the Canadian television series Edgemont, which focused on the trials and tribulations of teenagers living in the town of the same name. Zamprogna has the honor of appearing in every episode of the show’s five seasons.
Onward and Upward
Post-Edgemont, Zamprogna lentt his talent to many projects, including multi-episode appearances on the popular series Battlestar Galactica.
Zamprogna’s been nominated twice–in 2014 and 2016–for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role as Dante on GH. He’s played the role since 2009.
Girls, Girls, Girls!
Zanprogna and his wife, Linda, have three daughters–Anbilliene, Eliana and Adeline.
