Y&R isn’t her first foray into soaps. Her daytime debut role was Kelly Cramer on One Life to Live. From there it was on to Guiding Light as Dinah, then back to OLTL as Kelly, before landing the part of Phyllis on Y&R.

Tognoni was spotted by Halle Berry’s manager–a judge for the Miss Rhode Island Teen All-American pageant–who turned out to be the catalyst that lead her onto the acting path.

She has won the coveted Daytime Emmy not once but twice, both for her role as Dinah in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2006 and 2008.
