Sensational Days of Our Lives Scene: Anne vs. Jennifer

0

A scene on “Days of Our Lives” earlier this week made us chuckle with joy, thanks to the top-notch writing and acting displayed.

A Dramatic Moment Turns Comedic

On Tuesday, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Anne (Meredith Scott Lynn) encountered each other at the hospital. Their performances injected some humor into what can often be a pretty serious, even dark, show.

Jennifer was just coming away from a run-in with the dour Eric (Greg Vaughan). Then Anne approaches her. Immediately, the scene is imbued with lightness and Lynn’s delightful vibe. Her fabulously wild hair and infectious smile simply light up the screen.

Anne let Jennifer know she’s working at the newspaper. Jennifer was incredulous.

“Are you joking me?” Jennifer asked with rib-tickling disbelief. Anne’s delight in annoying Jennifer were obvious, and we have to say, pretty hilarious.

She needed Jennifer’s signature on some papers and asked for them as if it were totally ho-hum, even good, that she, a woman who has tormented Jennifer in the past, would now be a professional colleague. Jennifer was pre-occupied by her investigation of the malfeasance down at the docks and seeing Eric just a moment before.

After more needling from Anne, Jennifer finally snatched the papers from her, signed them as quick as possible, and thrust the documents back in Anne’s face. We were tickled pink.

A Story Appetizer, If You Will

Anne smiled with satisfaction at getting under Jennifer’s skin and the prospect of continuing to do so as they work together. And we smiled too!

These two have a wonderful chemistry, Anne’s zany energy contrasted with Jennifer’s earnest attitude.

We look forward to lots more comedic shenanigans involving these two!
