GH Door Closed, Y&R Window Open?
From the looks of the fan photo above from a Y&R fan event this weekend, Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon Quartermaine, General Hospital) is already a beloved member of the Y&R family.

Maybe that’s what got a savvy Genoa City fan, “Leah”/@jellybean456789 (LeahWhoLovesY&R) thinking–wouldn’t he make the perfect Kyle Abbott?! The plucky youngster behind that account, who attended the event, started a Twitter campaign to see that Watkins takes on the role of Kyle Abbott! She may also have been encouraged by Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland, The Young and the Restless) suggesting this idea to her, which Leah said she did.

Leah describes herself as “a 14-year-old Y&R fanatic.” Fellow Genoa City junkies tagged HW & EP Mal Young and Head of CBS Daytime Angelica McDaniel in Twitter posts. And none other than Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin, The Young and the Restless).

We at Soap Cities agree with Leah and kind of think he would be perfect for the role. Of course, there are still a whole lot of GH fans hoping the ABC sudser will reconsider it’s out-of-the-blue ouster of Watkins. There are petitions still going to see he that gets to stay in Port Charles as the sweet Dillon Quartermaine.
But if that doesn’t work out, Watkins as Kyle would be genius, right, dear Soap Cities readers?

Watkins was on a short break from GH filming a movie. He was as taken aback by the news of his being let go!

In as much as I like Robert and feel he should be apologized to and reinstated as Dylan but if that goes south I think he would be a great kyle
