Jason Thompson is safe as Billy Miler in the wake of seismic casting changes going on over at General Hospital, which some worried caused tremors in other parts of the daytime industry!
Safe and Sound
A daytime rumor can spread like wildfire. So when Steve Burton announced his return to General Hospital within days of Rebecca Budig’s (Hayden Barnes) confirming she’s leaving the show, people began to wonder if another fan fave’s job was safe.
Related: Jason Thompson shared some wonderful news about his family recently.
In response to a fan Tweeting that CBS better not let Thompson go, Angelica McDaniel, the head of CBS Daytime, responded with a Tweet saying Y&R was very happy with the actor’s portrayal of Bily Abbott.

What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been–and Will Be!
Thompson took on the fan fave role of Billy on Y&R last year when Billy Miller vacated it. Just as Thompson took up residence in Genoa City, Miller took on an iconic Port Charles role, that of Jason Morgan. It’s enough to make your head spin, right Soap Cities readers?
Also: Good news for Y&R fans on the CBS sudser’s future.
Thompson has seen Billy through a near-fatal car accident, loads of corporate intrigue, and no shortage of steamy romantic storylines.
And here’s looking forward to lots more.
Before You Go: Fan fave Kate Linder shared some heartbreaking news on her blog.
