BREAKING: Is GH Daytime Emmy Winner Tyler Christopher Headed to NBC’s Days?

Ready for some cold iced tea on this hot, lazy summer weekend involving a soap hunk named Tyler Christopher?!

Get ready to take a nice long, sip dear Soap Cities readers!  We have some interesting soap tea to share with you!

General Hospital’s  Tyler Christopher is now reportedly heading to Days of our Lives!  While this news cannot be officially confirmed, a Canadian blog site interestingly named Pound of Butter  is exclusively reporting that Christopher is heading to Salem.  You can read their full story here.   Tyler played the very popular Nikolas Cassadine for almost two decades until he was unceremoniously fired from ABC over a salary dispute last year.

Tyler Christopher to Salem in 2018?

“Tyler has signed a 3-year contract with DOOL, and his first airdate should be in the beginning of 2018,” the POB article reported.  Since it is publicly known Days tapes 6 months in advance, Christopher should be taping any day now, if he has not begun taping already.  Recent posts by Days actors with pictures of their scripts confirm the taping schedule.

We at Soap Cities, were intrigued with this exclusive soap scoop that seemingly came out of nowhere.  Since we cannot officially confirm it, we at SC decided to do some digging of our own to see what we can come up on our own!

Tantalizing Tweets & Blind Items!

How do we know TC is really headed to Days?  While we cannot officially say he is, there are some intriguing signs pointing to it.  Our beloved Daytime Confidential  columnist Jamey Giddens dropped what seemed to be a very transparent Blind Item (BI) on his Twitter feed to tease his followers:

After one of Gidden’s followers mentioned TC by name, a reporter from TV Source, SourceJenn, replied to show Christopher had recently started following  some NBC and Days Twitter Accounts. 

Giddens replied to several posts about Tyler being the subject of his BI with a simple :p

Then in their latest print issue Soap Opera Digest also teased their readers with a BI of their own.  Read the second line below.

Reunited and It Feels So Good!

Let’s also not forget Tyler Christopher would be reunited and working again with former GH Head Writer Ron Carlivati.  It was Carlivati’s writing on GH that won Tyler a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2016.

Our investigative work has made us conclude, dear readers, that TC indeed seems to be heading to Days!

Now, to our favorite part:  If it is indeed true  TC is coming to Salem, who could he possibly be playing???

Tyler Christopher:  From Royal Prince to a DiMera??

Let’s start with Gidden’s tweet.  His BI concluded with “Ashes to ashes…” For Days fans like myself, what immediately comes to mind is the DiMera family.  Stefano DiMera was like a Phoenix, rising from the ashes 13 times before he died the 14th time.. DiMera is like the royal family of Salem, and TC played a great, brooding Greek-Russian royal prince on GH.  Could TPTB at Days go there and cast him as the sorely missing EJ DiMera??

Or could he be a new character, created by new Co-HW Carlivati…?  In a recent interview in the print version of SOD magazine, Carlivati hinted bringing on a new character early next year:
