Garren Stitt, Oscar on General Hospital

Things can move fast in soap world–such as the recasting of the General Hospital role of Oscar with actor Garren Stitt!

The Two Faces of Oscar

When we first met Oscar, Josselyn’s (Eden McCoy) crush who came to her unauthorized party, he was played by actor Rio Mangini.

Shortly after Mangini’s first appearance, he got a part on Netflix’s upcoming Everything Sucks. He unexpectedly vacated the role as a result.

The new actor playing Oscar is Garren Stitt, who is best known for his roles as Marty in the Disney Channel series Andi Mack and Connor in the Nickelodeon series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn,” reported Soaps In Depth (SID).

Summer Lovin’/Happened So Fast

So far we’re liking Stitt’s take on Oscar, aren’t you, dear Soap Cities readers?

Stitt is a musician as well as an actor, according to SID. You can hear one of his tracks on Sound Cloud, the soap mag noted. Maybe Oscar will serenade his new love, Josselyn? Perhaps with his rendition of “Faces of the Heart,” by Dave Koz, formerly GH’s all-time best theme song. That’s our opinion, but we don’t think many would argue that it was superior to the current opening credits, which can only be described as a slightly menacing noise played over a jumble of shots of the actors’ faces.

Anyhow, we look forward to seeing what Oscar–and Stitt–bring to the Port Charles table!
