The Young and the Restless knows how to bring us that afternoon delight we fans want. Some of its current amorous tales are fab, while others are less so. Do you agree with our grades?
Hillary and Jordan: A-
At first these two weren’t all that interesting beyond the fact that they’re both hot people, and that’s always kind of find to watch. But now that we know Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) share a past–well, that made Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Jordan a lot more exiting! We at Soap Cities can’t wait to see where this is going!
Devon and Mariah: A++++++++++
We LOVE these two. FINALLY, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has someone! And finally Devon (Bryton James) will be in a relationship that he’s appreciated in! And they’re unexpected chemistry is on fire, right, dear readers?
Related: Readers had strong opinions about who Devon should be with–Hilary or Mariah?
Not to Mention: Greg Rikaart off Y&R?!?!? How can it be?!?
Jack and Gloria: C
We don’t like the drunken-roll-in-the-hay way these two started. And how Gloria (Judith Chapman) is pretty much using Jack (Peter Bergman) to counter her loneliness and keep herself at Jabot. Also, she may use their relationship against him. These two seem to have no real interest in each other, and frankly, it’s a bummer.
Phyllis and Billy: D-
One word: gross. We would have given them an F, but we like Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) and Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott). We thought the whole, sordid, cringe-worthy Philly chapter was over with, when suddenly we turn on our TVs and these two are trying to climb each other again. Groan. And now they’re official? No, thanks.
Cane and Lily: A-
Two lovely-looking people, again. Also, we were super glad when they got back together last year. We like the complications of Jordan and Juliet (Laur Allen), because we know Lane will figure things out and come out stronger for it. Tons of chemistry!
Don’t Miss: Daniel Goddard shared an adorable, upbeat Instagram post.
Cane and Juliet: D
No chemistry, and Juliet is an unlikable viper. What exactly does she want out of seducing Cane and hanging their romp over his head? It’s upsetting.
Chelsea and Nick: B
These two were better off as friends. There’s more of a feeling of a brother and sister rather than romantic partners between them. Also Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam were just too good together, and we always find ourselves wanting them to reunite–and hopefully they will one day. Again, the Jordan complication ratchets up their interestingness factor!
Victor and Nikki: C
What Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) was thinking going back to Victor (Eric Braeden) after the hostage situation last year is beyond us. We do like that she’s standing up to him now, though. These two are never really a bad couple, they just need a kick in the pants, collectively, and Nikki is providing some of that.
Ashley and Ravi: A+
We totally ship these two! They’re not even official yet, and we’re enjoying them. Love it, love it, love it.
Abby and Ben: ???
Where in the world is Ben (Sean Carrigan)? Until we understand what is up with these two, no grade is applicable.
Noah and Tessa: B+
If these two do become a couple, we’d like it.
Reed and Zoey: B
We might as well get used to these two, as summertime means lots of teen storylines on soaps. The Kendall complication is interesting too! How will the SOARAS-ed Maddie and Charlie play into this couple, if at all?
Scott, Sharon, Victoria: ???
These three either need partners or more interesting storylines. Hello!

The only two that are the least bit interesting are Billy & Phyllis and Jack & Gloria!
The rest of them are pretty lame… especially Hilary and Jordan, Devon and Mariah, Cane and Lily or Cane and or Lily with anyone.
Victor and Nikki need to take a very looooong break.
Ashley and Ravi are somewhat interesting, but don’t have a long-lasting possibility.
So, SallyZ, you basically have the opposite opinion of us here at Soap Cities! That’s good! We respect all opinions and want to hear then! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Favorites are Billy & Phyllis, and Devon & Mariah, don’t care for Hillary, Gloria, or Juliet at all…..
