The fan fave and Port Charles legacy character is also an up-and-coming director!
Flip Side of a Fabulous Coin!
McCullough has logged more acting hours than most professional actors might in their whole careers. She’s been on General Hospital since she was seven and she’s 39 this year! She has played the character off and on since then, but the “on” periods were usually years at a time. She also starred in GH spinoffs Port Charles and Night Shift.
More recently she’s been using her formidable acting skills to inform her pursuit of directing.
And now, she can boast that she was among the first crop of beginning directors selected for the Directors Guild of America’s TV Director Mentorship Program, according to Michael Fairman.

The Program
“As part of the mentorship experience, early-career directors (Protégés) are paired with veteran TV directors (Mentors) who will serve as their professional guides to the working world of episodic television throughout the 2017-18 season. Participants in the structured, intensive career development program are matched based on their work experience, interpersonal chemistry and mutual craft interests to ensure a fulfilling experience,” reported Fairman.
“With television directing jobs on the rise and more industry employers heeding the call for director diversity–our members have told us that they are seeking career development resources to help set them up for success,” said DGA president Paris Barclay.
