Hi, my fellow Salemites, it’s Maureen, the Sage of Salem and I’m back from a much-needed vacay. So, let’s chat about this past week in my Days of Our Lives recap.
He’s Back!
Well, Xander (Paul Teller) is risen from the “dead” and is out for revenge. It’s all part of Deimos’ (Vincent Irizarry) plot to win Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) heart by being the one to rescue her and Holly from a dangerous ghost risen, Xander. Nicole and Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) romantic evening became a nightmare when Zander arrived at the Canadian hideaway. Xander shot a heroic Brady in the heart and escaped with Nicole and Holly. Poor Nicole. She didn’t even get to say a proper goodbye to Brady or pack for her unexpected trip to Greece. Also what a waste of the good doctor Dan’s heart! Gosh, Zander couldn’t you shoot Brady somewhere else?
Kiriakis Genes
Sonny (Freddie Smith) showed his Kirikas side this week when he used a gun to get his point across. A shocked or aroused Paul (Christopher Sean) looked on as Sonny flipped the script on Deimos’ henchman. As Brady laid there bleeding out, Sonny and Paul arrived just in enough time to get him to the local hospital.
Really, Jade?
As Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Steve (Stephen Nichols), and Joey (James Lastovic tried to have family night with Tripp (Lucas Adams), Jade had a slip of the tongue and sparked Tripp’s curiosity to search further into his mother’s death. He now knows that Steve is covering for someone, but who? First stop, Salem PD, where he met cousin Abigail (Marci Miller) for the first time and retrieved copies of his mother’s case files. There are tough questions ahead for step mommy Kayla.
Lani Gets Caught
Just released from the hospital, a persistent Lani (Sal Stowers) made it her mission to go after Snake again. Only this time she tried to keep it a secret from a protective JJ (Casey Moss). Lt. Raines tells her to abort, because they had what they needed to arrest Snake but Lani continued to probe Snake for more information on the Halo drug. Snake got suspicious and found the wiretap on Lani. He pulled out his gun and made her take three Halos, knowing that she will overdose. Lani pops the three pills and JJ barges in and attacks Snake. Snake is arrested and Lani is rushed to the hospital as everyone awaits her outcome. Looks to me, from her reaction to the drug, that she might have one foot in the cuckoo’s nest. Stay tuned!

Trying to Love Two
Kate (Lauren Koslow) tells Chad (Billy Flynn) that he should forget about winning Abigail back.It looks like Chad has competition whether he chooses Abigail or Gabi (Camila Banus). Dario (Jordi Vilasuso) and Eli (Lamon Archey) are both waiting in the wings to win these women’s hearts. Are Chad DiMera genes tough enough to take these two men on?
Second Chances
Looks like Eric (Greg Vaughan and Jen (Melissa Reeves) are going to give their feelings another try, but an unhappy Marlena (Deidre Hall) will be lurking in the background. Watch out, Jen, mama Marlena doesn’t approve of your relationship with her son. Did Marlena forget that Eric is the reason why Jen ever got hooked on prescription meds!
Hanging On
As Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) tried to hold on to Theo (Kyler Pettis), Ciara (Vivian Jovanni) is getting closer to Wyatt (Scott Shilstone). Neither Hope (Kristian Alfonso) nor Theo are Wyatt fans. Can they put an end to this relationship before it’s too late?
Also: Panos Vlahos set to guest star on Days.
Clinging to Life
As Brady fights for his life, he pleaded with Eric to rescue Nicole and Holly from crazy Xander. As Eric agreed to help, he brought in Jen on the rescue mission. Will this mission bring them closer together, or will Eric fall for Nicole again?
Ramses Amulet
It seems like some of our Salemites will all end up in Greece for one reason or another: Chad/Kate for the powerful amulet and Eric/Jenn on the mission to save Nicole and Holly. Will they all make it out alive?
He’s Just Not Up For It
When Rafe (Galen Gering) arrived at the hospital to arrest Brady for aiding and abetting a fugitive, he realized he is in no condition for this to happen. Brady was hanging on for dear life. Even Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) was at his bedside, worried that her friend will not survive his injury.

Family
Hope is suspicious of Dario and Myron’s business relationship. Does Hope plan on arresting all members of the Hernandez family? After all, she is the reason why Eduardo is behind bars. Will Dario be next?
