Jennifer Bassey, who entertained viewers in the most soapy way imaginable for 20 years on All My Children, is now set to delight daytime fans in a new/old role!
Another ABC Fan Fave in Port Charles?
Bassey is going to be on General Hospital, an “inside source” told Soap Opera Digest.
Recently, Hillary B. Smith reprised the role of Nora Buchanan in a fabulous cameo on GH. Will Bassey play the inimitable Marian Colby, the AMC character who became a household name after she slept with her daughter, Liza’s (Marcy Walker) boyfriend, Tad the Cad (Michael Knight)? And what AMC fan can forget her heartwarming romance with Stuart (David Canary)? Not us.

Since ABC got the rights to AMC and OLTL recently, GH has been in talks to bring characters from those iconic Eye Network sudsers to Port Charles. We can’t help but hope Bassey will reprise the role of the fantastically incorrigible, overly-chatty (in a good way), Marian! It would be music to our ears to hear her purr, “Daaahlings,” once again.

Bassey has cross-over-ed Marian before when she went to OLTL during the Babe/Kelly baby switch storyline on AMC.
A Storied Serial Career
Though Bassey is best known for her portrayal of the flawed but lovable Marian, whom we last saw in a Pine Valley mental hospital, she has several other notable soap credits on her resume.
