BREAKING: SOD Reports Kassie DePaiva Comes Back to Days of Our Lives!!

We called it first dear Soap Cities readers!! When Kassie DePaiva was out and about in NYC recently, we had a hunch she’d be back on our screens soon.

Now, Soap Opera Digest, the leading magazine that covers all four shows, reports DePaiva is reprising her role as Eve Donovan in Days of Our Lives!  It’s not a surprise DePaiva is coming back to the show; she has strong ties to new Head Writer Ron Carlivati:  they both worked together on ABC’s top-rated soap One Life to Live when he was head writer there. He also brought DePaiva onto General Hospital when he was head writer there.  She is scheduled to start airing Monday, October 30th.

We at Soap Cities always thought it was only a matter of time before DePaiva rejoined the show since we have seen pictures of her with her former (now current) Days cast mates at industry events, including the 44th Annual Daytime Emmys and Ken Corday’s Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  It turns out we were right!

We at Soap Cities are looking forward to seeing DePaiva back on our TV screens as Eve Donovan!  Personally, we are so happy she is cancer free after her battle with leukemia!!  We also think she looks great with her new short ‘do.  What do you say dear readers?

What About Blair?

Now that DePaiva will be back in Salem, will we see Blair Cramer on General Hospital any time soon or on a newly resurrected OLTL?  In soaps we always say “never say never!”

Carlivati Casting Coups

This is RC’s fourth casting coup since joining Days.  He has managed to bring back Chandler Massey as the very popular but currently deceased legacy character Will Horton and of course one of the mainstays of the show, Alison Sweeney as his mama Sami Brady Dimera!

He’s also bringing daytime and primetime soap actress Morgan Fairchild (Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road, The City, and Search For Tomorrow) to mix it up with the Kiriakis family as Angelica Deveraux.

While we can’t wait to see RC’s work begin airing on Days sometime later this summer (no confirmed date), that’s our only gripe; the show taping six months ahead playing out tepid storylines we are being forced to wait out.   There’s even a petition by soap website Soap Hub to change the taping schedule closer to air so adjustments can quickly be made as needed.
