Pierson Fode of The Bold and the Beautiful used his voice and position as a celebrity to make a courageous declaration on a day of great importance to the LGBT community.

You’re Not Alone

Fode counted himself among the LGBT community’s supporters in a Tweet announcing his allegiance with the community on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

Don’t Miss: Get to know B&B‘s luminous Katherine Kelly Lang.

The progressive star even included himself in a GIF accompanying the Tweet’s text, saying that he “stands as an ally” to the LGBT. The image is from the teen cult classic “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List,” in which Fode plays the character Ely Diamond, who is gay. Scroll down to see his full Tweet.

It’s so important for soap celebs to use their star status to advance inclusivity and justice for all, don’t you think, dear Soap Cities readers?

Also: The cast of B&B had way too much fun Down Under.

An Apt Daytime Home

Fode has played Thomas Forrester on B&B since 2015. He was nominated in 2016 and again this year for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series

B&B has the honor of telling the first in-depth story of a trans-woman in daytime, that of Maya Avant (Karla Mosley). The show has been recognized numerous times for Maya’s on-screen journey, her struggles and triumphs.

Don’t Miss: Karla Mosley accepted an award on behalf of B&B for telling Maya’s story.

Daytime has for decades been at the vanguard in telling stories that humanize and popularize the struggle of the LGBT (and more letters too!) community.

We at Soap Cities wish Fode and all our readers a happy International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia!
