Since Gloria (Judith Chapman) has been back in Genoa City, she’s been doing what any good soap mom does. She’s been meddling in her children’s lives! This has already led to some juicy drama, and Chapman hints there’s more to come. She posted an intriguing message on her Facebook page and Instagram account.
Glow, Little Glow Mom
Gloria has made it clear she is none too excited about Kevin (Greg Rikaart) reconnecting with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). A mother’s instincts are often right on the money, and certainly in this case. Chloe’s has done many-a-misdeed since she returned to Genoa City last year, none of which have yet come to light.
Gloria has also been sticking her dainty nose into Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) business. Those two have been tolerant up until now, but there’s only so much two adults in a loving relationship can take!
A Wacky Soap History
Gloria Abbott Bardwell came to Genoa City in 2004, portrayed by soap opera royalty, Joan Van Ark (Valene Ewing, “Knots Landing”). Chapman took over the role in 2005. Gloria proceeded to get involved in all kinds of classic soap hijinks. She married John Abbot (ex-Jerry Douglas) and even sued Jabot Cosmetics at one point!
Gloria ran Genoa City nightlife destination Gloworm until it burned down.
She’s Apparently Just Getting Started
Chapman posted to both her Instagram and Facebook a snapshot of a Soap Opera Digest article. The article describes Gloria’s Genoa City comeback as one of the soap goings-on its loving right now. We have to agree with that soap magazine!
