Ex-“General Hospital” star Antonio Sabato, Jr. took to social media to announce that he’s attending President Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration festivities this week.
A Loyal Supporter
Sabato spoke at the Republican National Convention last year in support of Donald Trump’s nomination as the Republican presidential hopeful. Afterward, he complained that he had been blacklisted in Hollywood for openly supporting a conservative politician. The soap community, like Hollywood in general, tends to lean left politically.
Another soap alum, Kimberlin Brown (ex-Sheila Carter, “Bold and the Beautiful”) also took center stage at the Republican convention to speak in support of Trump.

Today, Sabato, Jr. Tweeted that he’s en route to our nation’s capitol to attend the The Great American Ball. That gathering will occur Friday night, following Trump’s official inauguration as the United States’ 45th president.
“The Great American Inaugural Ball will celebrate the inauguration of Donald Trump with an evening of entertainment, food, and drink. Ticket purchase includes access to food stations and full bar. Entertainment includes DJ Chris Styles, Max Hodges, Darryl Worley, and more,” reads the Inauguration’s official website.
A Daytime and Primetime Soap Star
Sabato, Jr. played the hunky Jagger Cates on “General Hospital” for three memorable years. He was part of the wildly popular group of GH young adults on the show at the time, which included Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett) and Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan; Dylan McAvoy, “The Young and the Restless”).
He also played Dante Damiano on “Bold and the Beautiful” and mobster-turned-stalker Jack Parezi on “Melrose Place.”
