Soap alum Eddie Alderson (ex-Matthew Buchanan, One Life to Live [OLTL]) posted a heartwarming message to social media. The actor has been battling a terminal illness and expressed gratitude for the support of his fans.
Facing His Illness With a Smile
Alderson was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma last year and his treatments are ongoing. As he has battled his illness, he’s posted to social media numerous times to let fans know that their support of him during this time has been heartening to him. Last week he Tweeted a similarly gracious post, which you can see below.
A Tough End to 2016, But a 2017 Ahead Filled With Hope
Last November Alderson revealed he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Fortunately, this form of lymphoma is treatable and we at Soap Cities know he will be cured and maybe even ready to re-enter soap acting!
A Family Affair
Anderson appeared on OLTL with his sister, Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr Manning). When ABC canceled OLTL, we didn’t see much more of him. That includes when the ABC sudser moved to its online home at TheOnlineNetwork, a Prospect Park production. Kristen, though, appeared as both Starr Manning and Kiki Jerome on “General Hospital” after OLTL got the axe.
Impressive Credentials
Eddie has been nominated for two Young Artist Awards and one Daytime Emmy Award.
Hey everybody! Just wanna say that your continued prayers and positive messages to me are so appreciated and I love you all 😃 Happy New year
