Days Star Tamara Braun Eulogizes Mary Tyler Moore

“Days of Our Lives” star and soap alum Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali) took to social media to pay homage to the late Mary Tyler Moore (MTM) on the same day the iconic actor passed away.

She Turned the World on With Her Smile

Braun posted a pic to Instagram that would give wings to many hearts while bringing tears to the eyes at the same time. Scroll down to see it and read Braun’s caption.

In the pic, MTM is exuberantly tossing her hat in the air from the opening credits to her eponymous show. “Who can turn the world on with her smile,” the lyrics went. And she sure did, as Braun acknowledges.

A Woman Who Helped Shape a Generation, and a Soap Actor

Braun said she holds dear the many memories MTM and her storied show biz career gave the soap vet.

In hashtags, Braun remembered MTM’s “grace, beauty, talent, intelligence.” That’s how we do in 2017!

We at Soap Cities join Braun in honoring the shining star that was Mary Tyler Moore.

Soap Inspiration From an Unexpected, Funny Place

Perhaps Braun got some of her soap thespian inspiration from MTM. Braun has played strong women, though not always the nicest ones, in her many daytime roles. She played Ava on Days, of course, Carly on “General Hospital,” and Bianca’s girlfriend Reese Williams on “All My Children.”

Braun has been nominated and won many awards for her acting talent. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on GH. She won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2009 for her work on “Days of Our Lives.”
