Jen Lilley, much-missed “Days of Our Lives” (Days) heroine and soap vet, took to Twitter yesterday to share her typically delightful reaction to news she was pre-nominated for a Daytime Emmy!
A Southern Gal Gushes
When people are taken aback, people’s regional accents often come out, even online, apparently. Lilley let loose (ex-Theresa Donovan) her inner Southerner in her ecstatic Tweet (she hails from Roanoke, Virginia). Scroll down to see her online expression of joy.
Lilley made received a pre-nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The actresses who receive the most votes from National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) members then advance to the next round. Final nominees are selected from that elite group.
It’s Always Nice to Be the Bearer of Good News
The actress also posted a screenshot of a text from a contact whose initials are BM. Hmmm…any thoughts on who that might be, Soap Cities readers? BM alerted Lilley to the news of her inclusion in the first round of Daytime Emmy cuts.
We’re Not Surprised
It was an intense year full of soapy drama for Theresa. And Lilley regularly delivered outstanding performances as the younger Donovan sister found love, had a son, and then left Salem.
A Full Plate
Lilley’s personal life imitated art this year as she began fostering a baby. Perhaps that life change prompted her to step back from the demanding schedule that comes with working on a soap. Lilley seems to love daytime, especially Days, so it’s very possible we haven’t seen the last of Lilley’s Theresa.
My legit response. My stomach is doing flips y’all. 😍😍😍 pic.twitter.com/qOTl52RWDq
