Nicollete Sheridan is set to take on on of the most iconic roles in all of television .
A New Alexis!
The CW’s Dynasty reboot now has its Alexis Carrington, reports that entertainment bible, Variety. And, Sheridan’s is a name that soap fans know well! She, of course, was Edie on the long-running ABC hit Desperate Housewives, and also played Paige on the nighttime sudser Knots Landing.
Of course, Joan Collins originated the legendary role on the original Dynasty. The glam Sheridan, though, should be a great fit to play the equally glamorous vixen! A precise air date hasn’t yet been announced; however, we can safely bet that Sheridan will make a fittingly grand entrance.
The CW gave a hint on what’s to come. “She will return unexpectedly to their world, challenging Blake’s (Grant Show) marriage to Cristal (Nathalie Kelly), seeking to reunite with her children, and fighting to claim what is hers,” it said in a statement.
A Long Career
Sheridan’s roles, of course, haven’t only been limited to Housewives and Dynasty. She got her start as a young actress in the 1984 series, Paper Dolls (a TV movie of which, a few years before, coincidentally starred Joan Collins), plus many television movies and series, such as Will and Grace and Becker, to name a few. Sheridan has also starred on the big screen, in flicks including The Sure Thing and Beverly Hills Ninja. We are sure that her talent, charm, and glamor will lend themselves perfectly to her new role!
Reboots Galore, Now Daytime?
Dynasty is just one of many shows to join the reboot bandwagon, along with Will and Grace, Roseanne and Fuller House, to name but a few. Now, if the proverbial stars could align, and some of our favorite classic soaps be successfully resurrected – hello, AMC and OLTL – that surely would be icing on the reboot cake!
