One Heart, Far Apart
Living apart from her husband, Robert Desiderio, for a good part of every year has been the key to their long-lasting marriage, Light told People.
There’s definitely something to be said for the idea that the opposite of familiarity would breed the opposite of contempt, right, dear Soap Cities readers?
Light and Desiderio have been married for 32 years.

“It’s been the best,” Light gushed. “I highly recommend it. He loves California, and I would never ask him to leave there and he would never ask me to leave here.”

Light and Desiderio met on the set of One Life to Live, on which she played Karen Wolek and he played Steve Piermont.

They began dating, Light said, and Desiderio announced his desire to move to California. They’re now bi-coastal.
Light says that despite living on opposite shores, they get in plenty of in-person time, too.
“Now, mind you, I go back and I shoot Transparent and I’m there four or five months, so I’m there all the time, so then when I’m done there, I come back here and he’s flying here today, so we’re going to be together for a few days and then I’ll go back to California, so it really is this kind of supportive…we’re on each other’s team,” the actress said.
