September 15th! Set your DVRs, dear Soap Cities readers.

This has to be one of the most hotly anticipated soap comebacks in recent memory.

Never Say Never

A large part of that, aside from Burton’s status as perennial fan fave among GH and now Y&R fans, is that this is one comeback no one could have seen coming.

Don’t Miss: Days and GH fans get a treat with this Port Charles cop’s new movie!

When Burton left Port Charles supposedly to spend more time with his family, then appeared shortly after on The Young and the Restless. Many of us assumed his Port Chuckles days were over and done with. But sometimes even the lesson we soap fans learn over and over is hard to remember: you never, ever say never. Never! Ever!

And so GH announced earlier this summer that Burton would be returning of the soap even as Billy Miller continues to play, and play well to fan acclaim, the role he had inhabited for many years, that of Jason Morgan. So who will Burton play? We’re still not sure!

Must-Read: Is this Port Chuck fan fave actually staying at the show after his departure was announced just a week ago?!

We do know one thing for sure: we’ll be tuning in along with many other GH fans September 15th to find out.
