You may need to be admitted to Port Charles’ very own General Hospital for shock after you hear this great news about our fave, Robert Palmer Watkins.
We’ll Take It!
The news of Robert Palmer Watkins’ (Dillon Quartermaine) being let go from the ABC sudser may have been greatly exaggerated.
Soap Cities was among the first to report the bizarre development, in which a fan fave actor, hottie, and beloved Port Charles legacy character was let go–very unceremoniously–from GH very recently.
Now, our colleagues at Soap Hub are reporting, via our lovely friends at Soap Opera Digest a la its latest issue, out tomorrow, that Watkins may be placed on recurring status instead of let go altogether.
Perhaps, Sam (Kelly Monaco) could use her PI skills to find out what the heck is up at ABC with all the unpopular cast firings.
We have some ideas that could guide the Port Chuckles PI’s investigation.
Perhaps TPTB at GH must cut costs (read: actor salaries) because Disney is instituting budget cuts, a whole ten percent of its fiduciary allowance, most of which will happen at ABC, according to Fortune.
“Mouse House topper Michael Eisner ordered a companywide cost savings review two weeks ago following the release of poor first-quarter earnings results,” reported the entertainment industry’s premier news source, Variety.
Tweet Him Some Love
For his part, Watkins took to Twitter to say he wasn’t sure what the deal was with his contract, in response to cast mate Will deVry tagging him in a tweet of the Soap Hub article.
