Now, dear Soap Cities readers, since the days of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Bell Jar, ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) for mental illness, usually depression, has come a long way. Still if you don’t really need it and are hospitalized against your will, it’s probably something you want to avoid.

It looks like John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) aren’t going to have any such luck at the beginning go the week, as they lie strapped to gurneys with electrodes being attached to their heads.

The general chaos at Bayview has unforeseen consequences.
