Yes, that’s right, GH fans! Michael Sutton will reprise the role of Stone Cates on GH!

Come Again?

Beloved GH actor Sutton is set to make a Port Charles comeback during an upcoming dark, difficult time for his mob boss and close friend, Sonny (Maurice Benard), reported TV Line.

GH fans undoubtedly remember that in a classic Matt-and-Claire-Labine deeply moving, brilliantly-written storyline, Stone was diagnosed with HIV. His disease quickly advanced to AIDS, and he died. Now, thankfully, treatments options for this with HIV have made huge progress, thus allowing Robin (Kimberly McCullough), who contracted HIV from Stone to not only live a full life, but carry her own children!

We Have Faith

Now, after a serious, socially relevant storyline like Stone’s death, we at Soap Cities hope he’s not coming back from the dead.

Must Read: This fan posted on her blog an impassioned plea to keep Will deVry on General Hospital!

While we love Sutton, Stone, and a good back-from-the-dead soap storyline, this would be an inappropriate character to return from the beyond. It would delegitimize not only Stone’s struggle, but that of the many people still fighting HIV/AIDS, not to mention those who have already succumbed to the disease.

Sutton reprised this role once before in 2010 when Robin had a crisis and he appeared as a supportive figment of her imagination. Isn’t it true that our beloved loved ones who pass on often become like angels to us and provide us with much-needed comfort and strength.

Don’t Miss: One half of the head writing team of Jelly–Jean Passanante–announced her retirement.

We trust GH Head Writer Shelly Altman to do right by the character and by fans!
