Y&R fans know Miles Gaston Villanueva of The Young and the Restless can do a sexy villain like a pro–and now so will true crime fans.

A Lurid Crime, a Televised Circus of a Trial

Villanueva played the slimy yet seductive Luca Santori on Y&R. Now he’ll play Lyle Menendez in Law and Order: True Crime–The Menendez Murders, reported Deadline.

Lyle Menendez and his brother, Eric were convicted of murdering their parents in 1996. Their trial was OJ Simpson-like, as it was televised; there was a riveting cast of characters, including hot-shot attorney Leslie Abramson; the airing of scandalous dirty laundry as the Menendez brothers’ privileged lives were chronicled in court; and even allegations of sexual abuse by the parents. The brothers were committed of first-degree murder, which the prosecution posited they committed for their parents’ hefty inheritance.

Even after being sentenced to life in prison, the Menendez brothers continued to make headlines as they entered relationships with women on the outside.

A Bad Boy Gets Worse

Villanueva became a fan fave villain on Y&R with his portrayal of the slimy Luca. Crime family member Luca married Summer (Hunter King) to get in good with Victor (Eric Braeden). The pressures of corporate intrigue got to him, and he held Summer hostage, leading to his arrest and Villanueva’s departure from the show.

We can’t wait to see what he does as Lyle Menendez on this new series! Can you, dear Soap Cities readers?

Don’t Miss: Y&R star Jason Thompson shared an important family milestone.

“The true-crime installment of the Law & Order franchise will delve into the players, the crime and the media circus, detailing the day-to-day battles of the trial and unveiling the shocking truth of what really went down when the cameras stopped rolling,” according to Deadline.
