Roger Howarth, STILL Franco Baldwin on General Hospital.

Yes, General Hospital fans, you’re reading that correctly. Roger Howarth is staying–not leaving or going off-contract–at the ABC soap.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

After a week of reported ups and downs in contract talks, a week when Howarth was said to have been taken off contract for a day or so, GH and Howarth have made a deal to keep the fan fave on contract.

Don’t Miss: There was a special guest at a recent Howarth/Michael Easton fan event!

“Roger Howarth (Franco) has inked a deal to remain at General Hospital,” reported Soap Opera Digest, the trusted industry source.

Franco’s Future

Well, this is good, we say at Soap Cities. Howarth is involved in two major storylines, after all. He’s helping solve the Jake mystery, and then there’s the ongoing love story of Franco and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). We want to see how these stories pan out, don’t you, dear Soap Cities readers?

Also: How much do you love Rebecca Budig’s personal style–we sure do!

Fan Fervor

This is also great news because it shows that fan voices do matter, a point we, as a site dedicated partially to the Save Our Soaps movement, are always trying to underscore.

Howarth fans had started a Twitter campaign, using the hashtag #KeepRogerGH, to see that the actor stayed at GH. His ardent supporters had also begun an online petition to keep Franco in Port Charles.

Don’t Miss: A devious dame is on her way back to Port Charles.

According to this poll we did, overall, fans wanted Howarth on GH.

  1. Well all I could say is I pray Frank will use his brain and give RH the opportunity to play his best Soap character of all time: Todd Manning. Right now I find Mr. Frank’s purpose revolved Jake and Liz
I miss when he was the centre of attention in Tv.
