“Chandler Massey… is coming back to Salem to reprise his popular role,” reported ew.com.

A Proud Mom

His on-screen mom, who’s also returning to Salem soon, Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) also chimed in on the issue.

“I’m so excited to work with Chandler again. It will be fun to see what they have in store for our characters,”

A Complicated Past

Massey vacated the role of Will in 2014, but not before winning three Daytime Emmys for his work in it. Massey played the character when Will participated in the first kiss between two men on Days.

Guy Wilson then assumed the role, but his Will fell victim to the necktie killer in 2015, in a move that angered many, including Sweeney.

Don’t Miss: An intriguing new character will make an appearance on Days soon.

Bigger Than Any One Actor

Guy Wilson took to Twitter to say there are no hard feelings about which actor plays the role, he’s just glad that the iconic character is coming back to Salem. He’s also friends with Chandler Massey–so cute!

“Whether it were me, Chandler, or an entirely new recast, the world needs Will Horton. I couldn’t be more happy that Chandler Massey, a tremendous daytime actor, and friend to boot, is back in the saddle as the steward of such an important LGBTQ icon,” Wilson said. Cool guy, right?

You’re really not a fan of the back-from-the-dead storylines. We remember, karin. But maybe you’ll like this one–who knows! 🙂

  2. I am so excited Chandler and Will are back. They should have never killed Will. There were so many different ways they could have gotten Will out of Salem. To me they are righting a wrong. Welcome back Will!!!
