Fear not, Days of Our Live Daniel Jonas fans! Soap Cities is excited to spread the news that Shawn Christian will be back on your television screens Tuesday, April 18 in a brand new series.
Christian will be one of the stars of the Freeform’s channel’s (formerly known as the ABC Family Channel) Famous in Love, which combines intrigue, romance and mystery! It’s a triple threat sure to delight. Christian gave some background on his character, Alan Mills.
Behind the Bright Lights …
“I play a sort of ruthless and very passionate studio executive,” he told Soap Opera Digest. “I essentially run what is the equivalent of Warner Brothers. It’s called Gold Brothers Studio and in the pilot, we find Bella Thorne’s character, August. She’s the bright, shining star that we picked out of oblivion and she is thrust into this world of fame and fortune, the highs and the lows.”
A Busy Career
Christian is no stranger to series television. He leapt from being the first male spokesman on Star Search to As the World Turns, Charmed, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Summerland. He’s lent his talent to many television movies and feature films as well.
Bittersweet Departure … And New Beginnings!
Fans were disappointed to see Christian exit his role of nine years on Days. He told SOD that he shared their sentiment. “It hurt, you know? Just the way it ended so abruptly. I’m not going to lie.” His real-life beau, Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker) echoed a similar feeling, saying she wasn’t pleased with the way the show terminated his character.
However, fans will be able to see Christian light up the small screen in this new and exciting role. We here at Soap Cities wish him continued success!
