Brianna Brown has an exciting new role in the works!

If you’ve missed seeing ex-General Hospital star Brianna Brown on your screens like we have, you’re in luck.

Helping Continue a Dynasty

Brown took to Instagram to let followers and fans in on some exciting news. Along with a snapshot of a script, she shared that she’s set to portray the iconic role of Claudia Blaisdel in the CW’s reboot of the wildly popular 1980s primetime soap, Dynasty. Scroll down to see her post.

In the original Dynasty, Claudia was a love interest for Steven Carrington. She sought to reclaim her life after a nervous breakdown and time in a sanitarium.

Grant Show, who played Jake Hansen on another hit nighttime sudser, Melrose Place, will play series patriarch Blake Carrington  in the new Dynasy’s pilot.

Series originators Richard and Esther Shapiro are set to serve as Executive Producers on the reimagining of their 1980s mega-hit.

A Tragic Port Charles History

Brown originated the role of Dr. Lisa Niles on General Hospital. Lisa came to Port Charles to join GH, but also to pursue med school love interest Patrick Drake (ex-Jason Thompson). He rebuffed her, as he was happily married to Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and raising their daughter Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer). Lisa couldn’t accept this and went to extreme measures to try to break up the Drake-Scorpio family. She was finally carted off by the authorities for her many malfeasances.

Brown’s portrayal of Lisa brought a sad, complicated texture to what might have been a one-note, unlikable villain in the hands of a less-talented actor. We at Soap Cities were sad to see her go, but after all she’d done, there were limited options for the character in Port Charles.

We look forward to seeing the fabulousness Brown adds to Dynasty 2.0!
