The Daytime Emmy Ceremony: What We Know So Far

The 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held next month in California!

Daytime fans across the board have cherished the annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony for decades. For the past few years, the ceremonies have been the source of drama as major as some serial sudser storylines. So, for all you daytime awards show nuts, here’s what we know right now about the upcoming 2017 ceremony!

Where We’ve Been, Where We’re Going

The ceremonies will be held Sunday, April 30th, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, reported Soaps In Depth (SID).

So that’s one way to catch some soap star sightings, but it’s not so feasible for all of us. And what of seeing the actual awards be handed out?

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), who organizes the affair, hasn’t yet released any information on if/when/where we can watch the ceremonies on TV or online. At this point, that’s good news, considering all the ups and downs involved in the airing or streaming of the ceremonies over the past several years.

“In 2014, there was an ill-fated attempt to webcast the show live, and cable network Pop aired the 2015 Emmys, but the 2016 ceremony was not televised at all. It was, however, released online for viewing shortly afterwards,” SID reminded us.
