The Daytime Emmys excitement begins on two fronts this week!

The excitement for the upcoming Daytime Emmys is building. Can you feel it, dear Soap Cities readers? We have some dish on two ways to start your award show celebration this week!

Just a Few Weeks Away!

The 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be bestowed upon their winners on April 30th. While pre-nominations have been announced, the official list of nominees won’t be made public until tomorrow.

Passionate daytime fans can hear the list of finalists announced on CBS daytime gab fest, The Talk, Wednesday, March 21st, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time and 1:00 p.m. Central and Pacific Time, according to Variety. General Hospital star Carolyn Hennessy (Diane Miller) will join the show’s hosts to make known the nominations, culled from a list you can find here.

But That’s Not All!

Daytime guru Michael Fairman will host a special episode of his Soap Nation Live! podcast in the evening at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Another GH star, Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) will join Fairman in his hosting duties as they welcome several recently-announced final nominees from earlier that day. Find out more about that event here.

“In addition, NATAS’ [National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences] Senior VP [of the]Daytime Emmy Awards, David Michaels, will be on-hand to fill us in on the Emmy voting process, the upcoming ceremonies, and much more,” reported Fairman. Maybe we’ll get some dish on whether/where the Daytime Emmys will be broadcast on television!

An Exciting Time of Year

The Daytime Emmys recognize outstanding talent in all areas of television production, the most glamorous being the acting awards, of course.

This year, Susan Lucci (Erica Kane, All My Children) will pay a special tribute to the late Queen of Daytime, Agnes Nixon.
