Soap Cities reader profile #4: Jeremy Dowdy

Every week we at Soap Cities (SC) profile a soap fan and SC reader from around the world in our Reader Profile. We soap fans are each an integral part of a vibrant, dynamic, eternal community. And here is one example of that!

Name: Jeremy Dowdy.

Hometown: Oxford, Mississippi.

How long he’s been watching soaps: Since 1985.

Favorite soap: “One Life to Live”

Favorite soap character: Jessica Buchanan. I love Bree Williamson, but Jessica sure was a great character!

All-time favorite soap storyline: This is so hard! I’m torn between Natalie being thrown down the well on “All My Children” and The Take of the Two Todd’s on “One Life to Live.”

On the Future of the Soap Genre:  I believe the genre is alive and well. People love a good story, especially when they get to know the characters. No one really wants to see rich people succeed in life! I believe they much prefer to live the adventures of the troubled and tortured citizens of soap towns.

Fun fact: As much as I love the soaps, I am currently writing my own titled “Inside the Storm” to be posted on the web. It deals with the dark nature of our personalities and the struggle we all face inside as human beings.
