Soap opera crossover alert! John McCook (Eric Forrester, “Bold and the Beautiful”) will head to Genoa City later this month to visit a past love interest, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman).

Soaps: One Big, Happy Family

OK, maybe not always!

We at Soap Cities love when a character from one soap visits another soap–especially when they’re sister soaps like “The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) and “Bold and the Beautiful” (B&B) are. Ew.com reported McCook’s exciting upcoming appearance on YR.

In addition to shorter stays in B&B’s Los Angeles setting, Bregman starred on the soap from 1995-1999. During that time, she and Eric hit it off and began a relationship.

Now Lauren is happily married to Michael (Christian LeBlanc), and Eric is newly married to Quinn (Rena Sofer). But as viewers know, Lauren’s business, the boutique, Fenmore’s, is in a bit of a financial pickle. Jack (Peter Bergman) last week offered to invest in Fenmore’s to help keep the company afloat.

As a fashion magnate himself, Eric may be on his way to help Lauren’s business as well. Look for him on Y&R on January 27th.

McCook and Bregman: Thespians Par Excellence!

McCook has played the role of the Forrester patriarch on B&B since 1987. He has been nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor.

Bregman has played Lauren off and on since 1983, most recently and continuously since 2010. She has been nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards, winning in 1985.

Y&R consistently ranks as the most watched daytime serial in the United States, while B&B is the most watched soap opera in the world!
