GH Recap, Monday, January 16th, 2017: Spinelli Finds Maxie Just in Time

The “General Hospital recap” for Monday, January 16th, 2017: Julian defies orders, Sonny makes a confession, and Olivia gets a scare.

At General Hospital…

Griffin (Matt Cohen) checks Julian (Will deVry) out and tells him he’s alright. He leaves to examine the x-rays. Julian calls Alexis and leave a message. Rudge (David Lee) shows up and informs him that the boss is curious and that she had to destroy her premises. He orders him to get rid of Jason tonight. Julian won’t kill his son-in-law, and he’s sick of being manipulated. He’s going to inform his family about everything. “Tell your boss I’m done playing. It’s time for the boss to be worried about me for a change,” he says. Rudge warns against that, but Julian won’t listen and storms out. Rudge calls one of his men, a waiter at the Metro Court, and says they need to “incentive” to get Julian to cooperate.

At Sonny’s House…

Sonny (Maurice Benard) is trying to get his ankle monitor off and failing. As he thinks of Nelle (Chloe Lanier), Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) show up. They tell him the pawn shop was owned by a dummy corporation. When Sam leaves for a cup of water, Sonny thanks Jason for being a good friend and thinks they should have conversation about his role in the business. Sam listens as Jason tells his former boss that he only belongs with his family. She escorts her husband out and admits she heard what he said. “I’m with you, no matter what,” she says. She has a twinge. Sam says we might be late for the wedding. Sam and Jason stop by the hospital to have her checked out. They talk about missing Maxie and Nathan’s wedding. They run into Julian in the elevator. He tells them there’s something they need to hear.

Later, Griffin drops in to chat with Sonny. Sonny tells him that he’s getting the pieces of is life back together and feeling good after learning he’s not responsible for Morgan’s death. He’s working on his marriage. Griffin listens to him confess that he Sonny lets him know that he cheated on Carly. He wonders if he should tell her the truth. Griffin tells him as he’s leaving that it’s up to him, and you will know when you know. Sonny sighs.

At the Metro Court…

Nelle is with Olivia (Lisa LoCicer) prepping things for the party. Nelle bumps into Michael (Chad Duell), who has brought a tux for his brother. He needs to clear his head and asks her to join him. Meanwhile, Robin (Kimberly McCullough) arrives as Lulu (Emme Rylan) learns there has been a hiccup.

Across the room, Curtis (Donnell Turner) shows up, looking for food. He spots Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) and tells her he can do her a favor. He informs her of everything Buzz told him, but he needs to him to bring Him in but he won’t. Jordan appreciates how dedicated he is and explains that bringing Buzz in would help him get his badge back. He won’t betray Buzz like that but he has another plan. He will setup the meeting with Buzz.

In the ballroom, Spinelli (Blake Berris) calls Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) to tell them he caught Maxie. The cops soon arrive and Nathan tells Dante he’s honored to have him as his best man. They hug.

As Olivia heads for the elevator, Rudge’s contact leaps in with her. Pretty soon, she gets a call and gasps, “Leo!”

In the Crimson office, Nina (Michelle Stafford) tells Nathan that Maxie has vanished and Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins) is searching for her. Dante, Lulu and Robin arrive. Lulu hacks into Maxie’s account and Nathan digs around, discovering she ordered a car to the airport.

Spinelli brings Maxie to the Crimson office where Robin and Lulu surprise her. Lulu says, “Welcome to your wedding day! “Felecia arrives and Maxie breaks into tears. They tell her that it was Nathan idea. They give her something old, new, borrowed, and blue. Maxie tells them that they are the best and they help her get dress.

At the airport, Maxie arrives to buy a ticket to Portland. Spinelli (Blake Berris) shows up. “You’re not supposed to be here but somewhere else,” he says, claiming he’s there to see Sam and Ellie has taken Georgie to Disney World. She explains she needs to give Nathan some space. He doesn’t think that’s detective West wants that and offers to drive her back.

Later, Nathan and Dante comes in looking for Maxie. They question the ticket-seller, who informs him that she didn’t but a ticket but thinks she went to Disney World. As they try figure out where Maxie went, Dante gets a call from Spinelli that he found Maxie, and she’s getting ready.

At Perks, Michael takes Nelle for hot chocolate. He reminds her of the last time they were there trying to convince her to stay. She admits that staying in Port Charles has lined up with many of her goals. He asks her to skate, she will pass because of unhappy memories associated with it. He doesn’t think that she should wallow in pain, because then you become a victim for life. What defines you is what you are today. Nelle thinks that’s sweet but easy to say when he’s grown up in the lap of luxury. He says that’s not fair. He says that they both have been through so much. Nelle ask him how he stays so positive. He tries to make a happy memory every day and suggests they rent some skates.

Later, Rudge is talking to someone on the phone and agrees with the person that Julian has threatened to tell his family. He’s sending him a message, so it’s handled. “I’ll send a message he won’t be able to ignore.”
